Website Assessments

If you are trying to answer these types of questions, consider requesting a website assessment. Website assessments identify things that undermine website results, design aspects that serve you well, and pinpoint opportunities for further improvements.

Measuring website results

Lots of web companies provide mechanical website assessments that analyze things like website structure or website traffic. The User Element approach is unique in that we provide both human-based website assessments as well as mechanical assessments. We leverage our training in human-computer interaction to give you rich feedback about your website design that the mechnical tools cannot detect.

We provide various types of assessments:

  1. Expert review
  2. Usability testing
  3. Traffic analysis

Expert review

With an expert review we will conduct a human-based, expert evaluation of your website according to four criteria:

You will receive a written report that documents our findings and identifies areas with improvement potential. We will have a meeting (in-person, by telephone or Webex) to do a walk-through of the report and answer any questions you may have.

" We approached (User Element) to provide independent usability analysis and assessment of the project... Within a week, (User Element) had us on track. "

Usability testing

We will evaluate the ease-of-use of your website using real users/customers in a structured test. We observe the customers attempt to perform a standardized set of realistic activities on your website.

Results from test participants are compiled and analyzed. You receive a formal report summarizing participant responses, with recommendations for improvements. We will have a meeting (in-person or by telephone or Webex) to walk-through the test results and answer any questions you may have.

Traffic analysis

A surprisingly large number of website owners have little or no information about the traffic crossing their site. Yet it is very important to measure website traffic to help validate the design, track marketing campaign results, and support your decision-making process.

We will install tools on your website that track website traffic. We will regularly monitor the traffic, and provide reporting and consultation. This puts you in the driver's seat by enabling you to make decisions based on hard data.

Pricing

The price of a website assessment varies according to 2 factors:

As the above can vary greatly, pricing is determined on a per project basis.

In particular expert reviews are a popular option, as they are affordable and within the reach of any small business owner. For example, an expert review of a website that has 5 pages or less is usually only $150 (CAD). For 6-10 pages the price is usually $250 (CAD).

Contact User Element, and once we have more information about your project, we can give you an assessment price.
